This was the first novel by Shannon Hale that I have read, and I really value her writing style. While at “Austenland”, Jane is plagued with self-doubt about pretending to be a woman from the Jane Austen era.

Yes, yes… another Shannon Hale masterpiece, if you must pry! The dialogue in spots was read-out-loud bad and the main character was fla I read this book all the way through only because I love Jane Austen, and because the concept of the book was quirky and irresisistible. I found the beginning of this book to be annoying. Do yourself a favour. But I’d honestly recommend just watching the movie instead 2.

Hhale she got her storybook ending, so where is the motivation to grow? I’m thinking of fashioning my set up with a chain and wearing it around my neck. I almost feel bad about this because I do really really like Shannon Hale’s other books. I admit that I really hated this book. If you’re going to bother going to a place like this, it’s probably a good auatenland to have a good attitude about it going in, which includes playing by the rules.

I was really disappointed in this book. This book explores the “what if” of that obsession, and takes it to a whole new, somewhat unhealthy level. I have always thought I was born in the wrong century; this vacation would be a dream for me.
